Founded in 2008, GlobeScout is a perfect example of how a company’s evolution aligns with the industry it serves. In those days motorcycle luggage selections were somewhat limited. Particularly for adventure riders looking for hard case panniers that were durable, secure, and affordable.
For a young mechanical engineer and adventure bike enthusiast, this was the opportunity of a lifetime.
Selim Özruh already understood the formula for being a successful entrepreneur. Part of a three generation family-owned manufacturing business, Özruh Locking Systems, Selim learned at an early age just how much passion and dedication is required to run a small business.
The skills learned from his family growing up would serve him well as the visionary behind GlobeScout.
As the company grew, Selim brought on a fellow Istanbul Technical University grad, Bora Salkim, in 2011 to work as a mechanical engineering trainee at GlobeScout. The two mechanical engineers shared a common bond, which evolved into a solid partnership.
In 2011 Selim and Bora designed three rally bikes with all the special parts and navigation towers for DAKAR 2012. During both the DAKAR and TransAnatolia 2012 rallies the new designs worked perfectly.
The team continued to grow with the addition of Ümit Salkim, an experienced enduro, rally raid rider, and Chief Instructor at BMW Motorrad in Istanbul, who joined the GlobeScout management team in 2013.
Ümit brought a unique perspective to the company vision and was instrumental in designing a completely new concept. The GlobeScout Compact Rally Kit, which was first exhibited at EICMA 2013 and successfully tested during TransAnatolia 2014 before the presentation at EICMA 2014.
Today GlobeScout continues to develop amazing new hard case technology, pannier systems, and well-crafted accessories. The name GlobeScout has become synonymous with quality among adventure riders around the world.
